This week — a day earlier than planned — Crayola announced that it retired one of its classic colors for the first time in 100 years. Dandelion was introduced as a color to boxes of crayons everywhere in 1990, and after 27 years, apparently had a case of wanderlust, according to Crayola’s Facebook page.
But the up-and-coming color set to replace Dandelion won’t be announced until late in the day on March 31 (which is also National Crayon Day. Who knew?).
So…color us curious. What could be next? The other shades in a 24-crayon box are red, yellow, blue, brown, orange, green, violet, black, carnation pink, yellow orange, blue green, red violet, red orange, yellow green, blue violet, white, violet red, cerulean, apricot, scarlet, green yellow, indigo, and gray.
Here are our best guesses. Vote and tell us what you think!
